I am so confused about this circumstance at work, in want of advice please?

Let me know what you think about this situation.Well.Theres this guy named Eric that work for the same company as I, we met six months ago, well that was the last time I seen him, anyhow,I notice certain things with him and my employees..well for one, this guy named Rich, filled in because someone called off at my site,the wierd thing is that Rich has a full time job already, and we had people that were off that day, that could have worked, but my manager Bill sent him to me, and this manager fills Eric in on what goes on at my site, I’m assuming there friends too.

and so Rich and I , start to engage in idle conversation,come to find out Eric and he are cool, Eric is always giving him work, Theyve worked together several times,etc, so anyway out of nowhere he starts to beg me to call Eric or Erics friend Johnathan(who is also a manager) to get some OT(Overtime), he kept repeating to me is “Do you want his number”‘Let me call him for you”and what was weird, is I never even mentioned I wanted overtime,.., plus I asked a couple of other people that have worked with Rich,” and I asked one person, had Rich ever approach them to call Eric or Johnathan for overtime”, they all said no,which led me to believe something is up,but anyway, so during our conversation Rich is asking me “Why you dont wanna call him”‘You should call one of them”, I ‘m like Okay I will call Eric..lol

anyhow Rich works with me again today week later,, and hes talking about where he worked, he brings up that he worked at some type of movie screening,and says “yeah I worked with Eric last thusday”, and he sort of smiles at me,while he says his name, but anyhow he tells me that after he worked with me..He said Eric called him the next day after he worked with him at the movie screening. and its weird because Rich seems to only bring up where he works only when its with Eric, and he works for three manager, and he starts telling me stories about Eric, how alot of women like him, and that one time, this girl told him she liked him, and he adminately told the girl”No, I am keeping it professional, I dont wanna lost my job,…so why is he going out of his way for me ..have no idea..
And thats not the only weird thing, Ive had four workers to leave my site, and Eric will call them the very next day to work with him, one guy told me when he worked with Eric, he asked’So what does she do over at her site”"And where do she work” when he already knows..lol.

then there was a time where I accidently text messaged him a chain letter text, and like right after that, my supervisor Bill came by to quote on quote”Stop by and say hello”, plus there was a time, where I went into the office, I didnt see Eric, but my ol coworker called me and tells me Eric just called him but didnt leave a message 30 minutes after I leave the office …sorry to go on a rant, but does this all seem suspect?What is going on?
