How extended is deemed a “course” in college?

I was reading on the admissions website for a school and i was pondering if a “course” is deemed a full year or a semester?

    the start to the end of the class. in college it is a semester, but high school courses are a year

    some courses might be half credit 0.5 and last 1 semetser and full credit course 1.0 is the entire year. thats how it is where i go

    It depends on how the school structures their terms, but in general: each school year is divided into 3 terms, Fall Spring and Summer. Summer trms shorter and more intensive usually, to fit in the extra work. During each term, you will take several courses, or classes, that last about 16 weeks.

    Catalogues also refer to a course of study, which would be the duration of the program you get you degree in – i.e. freshman week to commencement. Typically 3-5 years.

    Usually it is one semester long. From August to December, or from January to April.
