How did you turn out to be succesful… wealthy… a millionare?

When I was 20 many years old I was so intelligent and confident I knew I was going to be rich by the time I reached 30. Properly, I am 33 years old now and I am not wealthy. I realized that my ignorance was greater and that turning out to be rich is not that simple.
I have a school degree and make a decent salary… but I am not wealthy. A lot of people my age have “produced it”… with $ 100k plus salaries.
What do you do for a living? How did you do it?
Was a Civil Engineer who got into Construction/Project management. Started my own management company. Met a few real companies and made some good contacts. Now managing one of the larger construction companies in western Canada.
Have a good salary.
But, what it comes down to is hard work,experience and maybe moving to where the money is.
